5. Now that Ive learned from it, how can I let go of my jealousy? Often in life we hang on to emotions long after theyve served their usefulness. They become comfortable, familiar and safer than doing the work to get to the other side of them. And yet they can also weigh us down and block our creativity. Try the analogy FEEL. First, Feel your feeling dont suppress it, actually let yourself feel it. Next, Express the feeling write about it, sing about, talk about it with someone you trust, play it on an instrument or express it in art. Next, Explore the feeling what is it trying to teach you, etc. as discussed above. And finally Let it Go. This can be as simple as saying a short prayer or affirmation (I have let go of my jealousy, or I have valuable and unique gifts to offer), or writing the feeling on a piece of paper and tearing it up.

Jealousy do you feel it? Do you sense it in others? Does it hinder your relationships with other musicians? Does it sap your confidence? Does it block your creativity? Here are some questions to help you get clearer about the jealousy in your life.

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. Martha Graham, quoted by Agnes DeMille, Martha: The Life and Work of Martha Graham

Jealousy has a lot to teach us. So when it shows up in your life, pay attention. If you notice jealousy in others, put yourself in their shoes and help them to identify with you. Reveal your humanity. Let them know that theyve got something to offer you.

2. How can I identify with this person as a fellow musician, instead of comparing our work? What opportunities are there for collaboration, mutual support and the exchange of ideas? Can I open myself to receiving gifts from this person feedback, support and love? What can I, in turn, give to this person? Even the most famous, the most successful musician is a human being just like you. Find the connection. What can I give to a musician whos newer than I am?

1. What is my jealousy trying to teach me? Generally when I have a strong emotion towards a specific person its either because that person represents something about me that I cant tolerate yet or because that person embodies something that I wish I could do or have. I remember being in a high school arts program and being incredibly envious of a fellow singer. What I was so painfully aware of (though I couldnt have articulated it at that time) was that this person was able to fully express herself and her talents, and I couldnt. I was a better singer at home in my bedroom than I was in front of other people, and THATS what I couldnt stand about the situation. By doing what I couldnt do, she shone a spotlight on my biggest challenge. It made it virtually impossible to have a good relationship with her.

4. How can I turn my attention away from this other person and back to what I can do to further my own success and creative fulfillment? If Im jealous of someone winning a songwriting contest, I can ask myself: how many songwriting contests have I entered? If Im jealous of the size of their fan base, I can ask myself: how am I attracting new fans and how I am deepening my relationship with the ones I have now? If Im jealous of the number of songs theyve written, I can ask myself: what am I choosing to do with my time instead of writing songs?

Raman of Classic Buys says that Nostalgia turntables are among the best seller audio electronics during gift giving Christmas season. Nostalgia turntables from popular brands like Crosley, Teac, Memorex and Thomas Pacconi are the top picks.

"Records sound so much better than CDs, (which) are harsh and pristine. And the cover art is much better," says Al Shaw of Manhattan Beach, Calif., who at 17 is too young to remember the LP's heyday. But he found Rolling Stones and Beatles albums in his grandparents' attic, and an uncle went on ebay to get him a player, which is front-and-center in his room.

Even those sales are an asterisk compared with CD players, which sold more than 40 million units. Turntable sales are so small that the Consumer Electronics Association doesn't track them. But turntables have always had a home among DJ and rap fans, who like the scratching sound created by manipulating the needle in the grooves.

Many electronic manufacturers are now coming up with replica turntable systems with designs of the past but the technology of today. Some of these manufacturers include Crosely, Teac, Memorex and jWin. You can find many useful features and functions in these systems including cd recording capability, ability to stack multiple records and computer usb connection.

"Music in its purest form is on vinyl," says Bo LeMastus, president of Crosley Radio, which makes nostalgic reproductions of 1940s and 1950s record players, items that were promoted heavily in department stores this holiday season. "It captures everything the producer wanted to put in the record. On CD, you lose a certain something."

Today the Crosley name lives on with superbly detailed replicas that truly transcend time. Reintroductions of original vintage radios and turntables feature the newest technologies graced by unforgettable Crosley stylings. The Crosley Collection includes AM/FM radios, portable suitcase - styled record players and turntables, record changers, multi-functional audio cassette/compact disc players, jukeboxes, music boxes, telephones and more. Rich lines, retro designs and authentic crafting have made Crosley today's premier vintage electronics manufacturer. True to the Crosley tradition, these replicas are as fabulous as they are functional, providing a delightful dose of nostalgia.

Turntables Make a Come Back as Nostalgia!

Record players or turntables, whose sales wound down to a halt almost a decade ago, are coming around again. No one expects an exodus from the dominant compact disc to the nostalgic format. Sales of turntables and the vinyl LPs played on them are experiencing a resurgence as younger listeners are buying less of today's music and rediscovering relatives' archives.

When shopping for turntables consumers are looking for top brand and multiple features says president of The Magma Group. Consumers preffer 4 in one systems that will play records, cd, cassette and radio. They usually buy the top brands like Crosley and Teac. Consumer also look for other distinct features such as CD Recorder and Stack-O-Matic feature. Cd Recorder allows you to record from LP to CD and Stack-O-Matic allows you to stack multiple records and play them one by one just like a multiple cd changer.

Crosley sold 400,000 record players in 2005, and he predicts greater sales this year. Joe D'Angelo of Teac, which also sells reproductions, says sales tripled last year. He figures 10 billion albums are still sitting on home shelves. With the new units -- Teac's and Crosley's players, with speakers, start at $100 -- "here's a way to play the music again."
